Question:
For Firefox On Linux how do I install latest flash plugin?

I prefer to do all my web surfing from a Linux laptop.

I assume that evil people who web-serve viruses to browsers are usually targeting victims on Windows or Mac.

Obviously Linux is not 100% safe but it is probably safer than Windows or Mac.

In order to see flash-content in my Linux-Firefox-browser, I need to have the flash plugin installed.

I can download the plugin from this URL:

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

The page there gives me a choice of download format.

I prefer the .tar.gz option from the select field.

Although my laptop runs Ubuntu, I avoid the APT format.

After the download I run shell commands like this:
cd /tmp/
tar zxvf ~/Downloads/install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar.gz
mkdir -p ~/.mozilla/plugins/
mv libflashplayer.so ~/.mozilla/plugins/
pkill firefox
firefox &
Next I can test that the plugin is working okay at this URL:

www.youtube.com
